Tear

Katherine Jones, Tear

We’re delighted once again this year to be part of the Whitstable Biennale Satellite programme. Our exhibition for the occasion will be a show of new etchings from the printmaker, Katherine Jones, Parasol & Other Works.

Her work is held at the V&A prints and drawings collection, The V&A National Art library, the House of Lords and in public collections worldwide. She has been the recipient of a number of prizes and awards for her work. See our website for more information.

The tension between safety and danger, security and vulnerability are a central focus of Katherine’s work, which describes and tests structure and form. For example the Greenhouse series, which we’re showing, demonstrates the innate uncertainty of these structures, floating between dependability and fallibility, between the solid and the transient.
